A day at the beach! #EmsBucketList

06•13•14

Emmett is tired!

Taking the morning off from activity #EmsBucketList

This morning, we slept in (8:30! unheard of!) and went for a little walk. We don’t have anything planned until later today when we drive into the city. Check out at our hotel is noon, so I’m letting the big guy sleep until then – he needs it! He has a fun-hangover!

Yesterday, we spent the morning visiting the Pet360 offices. Emmett thinks meetings are fantastic! Because they gave him a bully stick to work on…

Then, we drove to Sandy Hook beach in New Jersey, which is absolutely beautiful and has an incredible parks system. Normally it’s $15 for the day, but the ranger told me if you’re just going to the dog beach, it’s free! The dog beach is on the inlet side, not the ocean side, because there are nesting turtles on the ocean side. The weather was overcast with a little bit of a mist, which worked out perfectly because we almost had the place to ourselves! It was a fabulous day, though Emmett was exhausted. We topped it off with dinner with my friend and editor, Michelle, who Emmett adored. He was laying in her lap (and eating her dinner…) and giving kisses like crazy!

Emmett hammed it up for Michelle

We’re going to rest for the next couple hours, take another little walk, then head toward NYC. (I am NOT looking forward to driving in the city… wish me luck…) My dear friend – we’ve been friends since we were 11!! – lives in the city. We’re going to visit with her and her family, then she and I are going out to eat while Emmett has “guys’ night” with her husband and one-year-old, Jack. Then, Saturday we drive to DC for Em’s big party Saturday night! We’re going to need a vacation after this vacation… 🙂

I’m going to leave this with a gallery of pics from Em’s day at the beach! You can click to enlarge or just scroll through. Have a great weekend, everyone!

The beach pictures are wonderful! There is nothing like the fresh ocean air to tire you out! I hope you enjoyed the rest of your relaxation before heading into the city. I also hope you had a safe and uneventful drive in, and a super time with your friend.

Emmett looks like he had a great time! I love when beaches allow pets in the water, dogs just love it. Thanks for all the great pictures – he’s so photogenic!

I love your dog! She looks like Tessa. Tessa was the best dog I ever had in my life. I was so blessed to have that time with her.

What a blessed time you had thank you for sharing!
