Send help.

OK. So, yesterday John was on his way to work (they don’t get Memorial Day off because they get Mardi Gras off… only here). A short while after he left, I get a text that says: “Call me!” And has this pic attached:

Another stray

Whoo, boy.

He was driving along the highway down the bayou and spotted her in the middle of the road. A truck was coming, so he pulled over with his flashers on, ran out, and picked her up. He didn’t see other kittens or a mama cat – and this part of the bayou does, in fact, have gators.

So, he brought her home.

I ran out and got food, and John brought droppers back from the lab. She didn’t want to eat or go to the bathroom at first, which made me super nervous. I got some excellent advice from cat experts (thanks, Erik, Erin, and Jeree!) and we set her up in the upstairs bathroom away from all the dogs and Newt.

She was covered in fleas, so we gave the little dear a bath. Which she hated.

Now, I’m off to the vet to get her checked out.

We have officially reached capacity!

Please, everyone, think happy thoughts – first and foremost about finding Molly a forever home! If we could get her a family, it would lighten the load (and free up our living room), so that we could then put our extra efforts into this little Petunia.

oh call her Petunia! What a great name! Sorry, but looks like you are loved by so many in so many ways that you will continue to expand. I don’t think you have a capacity!!!!

That is how we always ended up with a pet cat. Good luck in re-homing.

Oh, I wondered what you were talking about on the Twitter chat last night. Our power and internet had been out and I barely had enough phone battery to do the chat, so I couldn’t come find out until today!
What a little cutie, and how wonderful that you and John took her in. It seems like animals just cross your paths a lot, doesn’t it? I hope everything works out for Molly so you can keep her.

We know the feeling. Hopefully you’ll have some time to get centered and relaxed!
