You help me stage photoshoots (like this and this).
You listen to me talk about other bloggers’ dogs as if they were close personal friends of ours.
You talk me down from the ledge whenever one of our boys has something drastically wrong… like the hiccups.
You barely roll your eyes every time I want to buy them a present, which is every time we’re in any store anywhere ever.
You snuggle them and coddle them and baby talk them (especially Newt!).
You save stray puppies along the highway.
You’re a hero to me and this herd, the best “doggy daddy” a girl could ask for.

Happy B-day John. February 9 is my birthday too!!! Maggie, so glad you found someone who loves animals as much as you. I have a short story I think you guys can relate too. My kids came home this past weekend to celebrate my B-day. We were just leaving the house to go to a really nice restaurant for dinner, all dressed up in our Sunday best, when my 60lb. dog(looks just like Lucas) bites all the way through my 6 lb new kittens nose. OMG blood everywhere. Long story short my kitten goes to the emergency room for the nite. Then is transferred to my vets office on Saturday morning. He is still at vets and can’t come home until he can eat on his own again. Still on pain meds and IV, but is going to be fine. Not disfigured at all just one large hole in top of one side of his nose. Oh yea, everyone went to dinner, my daughter & I were just 45 min. late.
